Controversial officiating sparks disputes in football and boxing

Controversial officiating has sparked debate in two separate sporting events. In a football match between Błękitni Obsza and Kryształ Werbkowice, Błękitni Obsza secured a 2-1 victory despite a heated confrontation. During stoppage time in the second half, referee Bartosz Pyda awarded a penalty to Kryształ Werbkowice. Błękitni Obsza coach Piotr Paluch entered the pitch to protest the decision, arguing that his player was the one fouled, and was subsequently issued a red card. However, the penalty was missed when Patryk Słotwiński hit the post, and Mateusz Wróbel later scored the winning goal for the visitors.

In boxing, Polish fighter Julia Szeremeta expressed strong disagreement with a judges' decision following her bout against Petrowa. Despite Szeremeta believing she won the decisive first round, four out of five judges scored the round in favor of Petrowa. Szeremeta reacted to the verdict by gesturing with a thumbs-down. Her coaching staff also voiced dissatisfaction, noting that the first round appeared to be the turning point of the match. Petrowa, a former world and two-time European champion, advanced in the tournament.
