Converse releases premium rebuild of Jack Purcell silhouette
Converse has released an updated version of its Jack Purcell silhouette as part of its First String pinnacle craft program. Originally created by B. F. Goodrich in the 1930s, the shoe features a signature “smile” on the toe cap.
The new First String Jack Purcell replaces traditional canvas with premium leather uppers available in White or Mountain Green. Technical upgrades include a Vibram outsole and a sockliner equipped with CX foam and Nike Air cushioning. The design incorporates archival details such as 1970s-style script, vintage-style laces with metal aglets, and a reshaped rubber smile inlay.
