Conwy community proposes Welsh-language cultural hub

A community group, Pwyllgor Cymraeg Aberconwy, has submitted a business proposal to transform the Old Civic Hall in Conwy into a Welsh-language cultural hub. The vision for the Grade II listed building includes a live music venue, a food hall, and various cultural activity spaces.

Partnering with the Welsh-language organization Menter Iaith, Conwy, the group is seeking a community asset transfer to manage the site. The renovation of the former library and theatre building is estimated to cost approximately £5.9 million. The building has remained vacant since the town's library relocated in 2019.
