Cookie Crisps puppy adopted after surviving gunshot wounds and abuse

Cookie Crisps, a seven-month-old puppy believed to be a Labrador and American Staffordshire Terrier mix, has been adopted after surviving severe abuse in South Carolina. The puppy was discovered living in poor hygienic conditions, confined to a small metal cage.

Veterinary examinations revealed that the puppy had been shot in the head, leaving bullet fragments in her body, and suffered from improperly healed old fractures. These injuries caused an abnormal head tilt and movement difficulties. Following her rescue, Jennifer Brooks, founder of NYC Second Chance Rescue, facilitated her care. Cookie Crisps has since moved to a foster home in Brooklyn, where she is recovering and adjusting to a stable environment.
