Cooking techniques for ground meat and meatballs

Practical culinary methods are suggested to improve the preparation of ground meat dishes. Using a potato masher instead of a spoon can more efficiently break down large portions of meat in a pan. To prevent splashing, meat should be placed in the pan in one piece, allowed to sear, and then pressed with the masher using short, decisive movements.

For meatballs, chilling the formed balls in the refrigerator for 20–30 minutes without covering them helps maintain their shape during cooking. This process allows proteins to stabilize and creates a natural protective barrier on the surface, ensuring the meatballs remain delicate and juicy rather than falling apart in the broth.
