Cooking Tips: Fissler Wins Frying Pan Test and Water Trick for Eggs
A recent product test by IMTEST evaluated 28-centimeter non-stick frying pans from brands including WMF, Silit, Zwilling, and Fissler. The Fissler Adamant Premium emerged as the winner, noted for its robust silicon carbide coating, even heat distribution, and high heat retention. The pan remained functional even with metal utensils and featured a cool-touch handle and plastic-free packaging.
In culinary technique, a method for cooking fried eggs using water instead of butter or oil has been highlighted as a way to reduce calorie intake. By using one to two tablespoons of water and covering the pan with a lid, the steam cooks the egg white while the pan heats the bottom. This method can save approximately 37 calories per egg compared to using butter, though it does not produce crispy edges.
