Coolblue expands e-cargo bike delivery service in Germany
Electronics retailer Coolblue is expanding its proprietary delivery service, CoolblueRadelt, across several German metropolitan regions. The service, which utilizes e-cargo bikes for the last mile, has now reached Hamburg and the Hannover region (via Langenhagen), joining existing operations in Berlin, Düsseldorf, and Frankfurt.
The service focuses on smaller electronic items such as laptops, smartphones, and headphones. Orders placed via the online shop or app are delivered the next day. To improve customer convenience, the company provides a four-hour delivery window that is narrowed to a one-hour window on the morning of delivery, followed by a notification 15 minutes before arrival.
As part of its sustainability goals, the e-cargo bike model offers emission-free delivery and is particularly suited for densely populated urban areas with limited parking. Additionally, the service includes a free recycling option where customers can hand over small old electronic devices and batteries during their delivery.
