Cooling technologies expand from fashion to AI infrastructure

As global temperatures rise, new cooling technologies are being developed to manage heat in both consumer products and industrial infrastructure. In the fashion industry, a new market for "Climate Wear" is emerging. This functional clothing aims to support human thermoregulation and reduce heat stress, offering a more energy-efficient alternative to cooling entire buildings or rooms.

In the technology sector, liquid cooling is becoming a necessity for AI infrastructure. High-power AI server racks, requiring between 30 and 100 kilowatts, generate waste heat that traditional air cooling cannot manage. In South Korea, heatwaves have necessitated strict temperature controls in data centers to prevent GPUs from shutting down. Consequently, LG Electronics has become the first company in South Korea to receive Nvidia certification for Direct-to-Chip (D2C) cooling, while KT Cloud is already implementing this technology in its AI data centers.
