Cooluli recalls 250,000 minifridges due to fire hazard

Cooluli is recalling approximately 250,000 of its 10-liter and 15-liter minifridges due to a fire and burn hazard. The recall follows at least 19 reports of the appliances smoking, sparking, melting, overheating, or catching fire.

The issue stems from an electrical selector switch that can short-circuit. The affected units include models from the Infinity, Classic, Glow Beauty, and Vibe series. These specific older models are distinguished by having an internal power supply and two power input ports (AC and DC), whereas newer models utilize only a single DC port.

Reports associated with the defect include over $80,000 in property damage and one instance of smoke inhalation injury. The recalled products were sold through Amazon.com and Cooluli.com between January 2019 and October 2024, with retail prices ranging from $80 to $120. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) advises consumers to stop using the recalled units immediately and contact the company for a free replacement power cord.
