Cooneybar Station in NSW Western Plains listed for $3.5 million

Cooneybar Station, a large pastoral property located on the Western Plains of New South Wales, is on the market with a price guide of $3.5 million. The station spans 18,700 hectares (approximately 46,209 acres) and is situated 90km northwest of Cobar.

The property features a variety of land types, including flat red loam soil, fertile chocolate soil types, and timbered areas with mulga and rosewood. It includes a 1,000-metre airstrip, 10 dams, and an 850ha cultivation licence. The station is noted as ideal country for Dorper sheep, and wild goats are currently harvested from the area for additional income.

While a previous carbon farming project on the property was abandoned following a change in ownership in 2021, there are opportunities for future development. Plans to clear invasive species over the next 15 years are expected to increase the station's carrying capacity and improve pasture management.
