Community initiatives drive recycling and local culture globally

Various regional community initiatives are taking place across Latin America, Europe, and the United States, focusing on environmental sustainability, local commerce, and social support.

Recycling programs are prominent, including the Eco Entrada campaign for Expocruz 2026 in Bolivia, a Reciclatón in Limón, Costa Rica, and the EcoTrueque program in Jesús María, Mexico, which recently collected over 1.8 tons of materials. In Spain, l’Alfàs del Pi is utilizing a mobile eco-park for specialized waste, while Córdoba, Argentina, is hosting a circular economy fair.

Cultural and social events include the Que Suba la Marea rock festival in Mar del Plata, Argentina, to benefit a maternal hospital; the Cultura en Juego board game gathering in Rosario, Argentina; and the Bs As Cocktail Week in Buenos Aires. Additionally, a fundraising event in Bakersfield, California, aims to support veterans experiencing homelessness through recycling and food sales, and a farmers' market is scheduled in San José del Guaviare, Colombia, to support local producers.
