Cooper Murray signs with PremiAir Racing as Erebus promotes Jarrod Hughes
PremiAir Racing has officially signed driver Cooper Murray to a long-term contract for the 2027 and 2028 seasons. Murray will join the team immediately to complete the remainder of the current season, following an early departure from Erebus Motorsport. Team owner Peter Xiberras described the move as a strategic step to integrate the young driver and build a foundation for future years.
Concurrently, Erebus Motorsport has promoted academy graduate Jarrod Hughes to a full-time seat for the rest of the season. Hughes is set to make his first solo start in the Supercars Championship at the Gold Coast 500. Erebus CEO Barry Ryan stated that the promotion was earned through speed, noting that Hughes has demonstrated the ability to lead races against main drivers.
