Cooperative initiatives mark milestones in Brazil

Various cooperative organizations in Brazil are celebrating significant milestones through educational events and infrastructure expansions.

In Rio Pardo, the 2nd Coonecta CoopEs event is hosting approximately 1,100 young participants to celebrate 10 years of the School Cooperatives Program. Organized by the Sicredi Foundation and Sicredi Vale do Rio Pardo, the event features over 30 simultaneous workshops, project presentations in partnership with Sebrae, and a pedagogical currency called Conecta to facilitate learning without real money.

In Patrocínio, Sicoob Coopacredi marked its 35th anniversary by inaugurating an expanded administrative headquarters. The new facility includes an innovation hub for the local community. During the ceremony, the institution honored former president Célio Machado de Castro by naming the central building after him. The cooperative has grown from 20 rural producers to over 52,000 members, operating 24 agencies across Minas Gerais, Goiás, and Bahia.
