COOPNAMA faces legal injunction to suspend upcoming assemblies
The National Cooperative of Multiple Services for Teachers (COOPNAMA) has been formally served with a legal notice demanding the suspension of its upcoming Delegate Assemblies scheduled for August 21 and its General Assembly planned for September.
The injunction, filed by member Hanly Darico Terrero Ramírez, seeks to halt these proceedings pending a lawsuit for accountability, the exhibition of documents, and the appointment of a judicial receiver. The legal action demands that COOPNAMA provide full, documented accounting of its 2023-2026 management, including social books, accounting records, financial statements, contracts, payroll, and audit reports.
The petitioner argues that the cooperative should not seek member approval or ratification of a management period that is currently under judicial scrutiny. The legal notice warns that any decisions made during the disputed period could face further precautionary or constitutional actions, including potential nullification.
