CoopUrb hosts UFMS students for urban agriculture knowledge exchange
The Urban Agriculture Cooperative of Campo Grande (CoopUrb) hosted food engineering students from the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS) for a knowledge exchange focused on food production, harvesting, and conservation.
Supported by the Community Support Fund (FAC), the initiative aims to strengthen urban agriculture by providing producers with access to new technologies and technical expertise. During field sessions led by Professor Raquel Campos, students presented techniques to extend the shelf life of vegetables and reduce food waste. The program emphasized the importance of ideal harvest timing and post-harvest conservation to improve commercialization opportunities and minimize losses.
