COP Bike Ride secures French city commitments ahead of COP31 in Turkey

The COP Bike Ride is a trans‑European cycling relay that aims to gather up to 10,000 participants as it travels toward Antalya, Turkey, the host city of the COP31 climate summit. Cyclists from France, Spain, the United Kingdom and other countries ride thousands of kilometres to promote soft‑mobility solutions and raise awareness of climate change.

In France the relay has stopped in Lourdes, where around sixty cyclists received a letter of intent from the municipal mayor confirming the city’s support for sustainable transport. Later the group passed through the Oise department, making brief stops in Pont‑Sainte‑Maxence and Senlis, where local officials pledged to expand cycling infrastructure, create dedicated bike zones and improve bike‑parking by 2030. These municipal commitments are intended to be delivered to the organizers in Antalya as part of the broader climate‑action message of the ride.
