Copa Airlines restarts Barcelona‑Panamá service, expanding Venezuela's air links

Copa Airlines resumed flights between Panama City and Barcelona, Venezuela on 2 June, operating three weekly services on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The route adds roughly 1,500 seats per month and completes the airline’s six‑month effort to fully restore its Venezuelan network, which now includes Caracas, Maracaibo, Valencia and Barquisimeto.

The reinstated connection gives the eastern Venezuelan city direct access to Copa’s Hub in Panama, linking passengers to more than 85 destinations in 32 countries and raising the airline’s weekly frequencies in Venezuela to 40. Roberto Pulido, Copa’s general manager for Venezuela, said, “Barcelona is key for our regional connectivity… we aim to connect better, not just to fly.”

With five Venezuelan cities served, the country ranks fourth in Latin America for the number of Copa destinations, matching Mexico and trailing only the United States, Colombia and Brazil. The service is expected to boost passenger mobility, commercial activity, tourism and family ties in the region.
