COPA and Cogeca confirm leadership renewals
The leadership of Europe’s largest agricultural organizations, COPA and Cogeca, has been confirmed following a plenary session in Brussels.
Massimiliano Giansanti, president of the Italian organization Confagricoltura, has been re-elected as President of COPA for a two-year term. Giansanti stated his intention to focus on a new Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) to protect farmer incomes and ensure food security is treated as a strategic priority alongside energy and border defense.
Lennart Nilsson has been appointed to lead Cogeca, with a mandate lasting until the end of 2027. Additionally, Agnieszka Maliszewska will continue her role as Vice President of Cogeca. The organizations have pledged to advocate for market stability and increased investment in agricultural cooperatives.
