Copa ASKADE 2026: Itaberaba’s ASKADOI and Feira de Santana’s Panthers win multiple medals

On July 25, the Copa ASKADE 2026 was held at the Raul Ferraz Sports Gymnasium in Vitória da Conquista, Bahia. The Associação de Karatê Dô de Itaberaba (ASKADOI) sent a delegation of seven athletes who collected eight medals, including golds for Bianca Nascimento (Kumite Sub‑12), Júlio Neto (Kumite Master C) and podium finishes across kata and kumite categories. The team was coached by sensei José Antônio and refereed by Carlos Alberto, and its success was credited to long‑term training and support from the Itaberaba municipal government.

The Instituto Panthers de Artes Marciais from Feira de Santana, competing with only two athletes, secured five titles. Maria Luíza Farias Cordeiro won four gold medals in Kata Sub‑21, Kata Senior, Kumite Sub‑21 and Kumite Senior (up to 61 kg). Coach‑athlete Tadeu Cordeiro captured the Kumite Master title. The Panthers highlighted the role of sponsors and the state’s Fazatleta program in enabling athlete participation.

Both clubs reaffirmed their positions among Bahia’s leading karate teams, emphasizing discipline, community support, and continued preparation for future competitions.
