On Tuesday, May 26, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) held the draw for the round of 16 of the 2026 Copa do Brasil at its headquarters in Rio de Janeiro. All 16 qualified clubs were placed in a single pot, meaning there were no restrictions on pairings. The draw was broadcast live on the CBF’s YouTube channel at 11:00 BRT.

The match‑ups confirmed include a classic Rio derby between Vasco da Gama and Fluminense, as well as other duels such as Corinthians vs Internacional, Grêmio vs Mirassol, Athletico‑PR vs Vitória, Atlético‑MG vs Juventude, Santos vs Remo, Chapecoense vs Cruzeiro, Palmeiras vs Fortaleza and others. The first‑leg games are scheduled for 1–2 August, with the return legs on 5–6 August (some outlets note 7–8 August). Winners advance to the quarter‑finals, to be drawn later in August.

The competition offers a prize of R$ 3 million for round‑of‑16 participants, R$ 4 million for quarter‑finalists, and up to R$ 78 million for the champion. The final is slated for 6 December 2026 as a single match at a neutral venue.
