Copa Illes Balears football tournament begins with round of 16

The Copa Illes Balears football tournament has commenced with the round of 16 matches taking place in Mallorca. The competition features teams from Mallorca, Menorca, and Eivissa, with the two finalists from Mallorca set to face the winner of the Menorca and Eivissa brackets for the absolute championship.

Son Macià recently secured its place in the tournament after defeating Margaritense in a penalty shootout. The tournament marks the beginning of the 26-27 season, preceding the start of the Third Division and youth leagues in September.

In women's football, Balears has announced Helena Vives and Roxanne Bolduc as new additions to the first team for the upcoming season in the national Second Division.
