Copa João Pessoa amateur football enters third week of competition

The 17th Copa João Pessoa de Futebol Amador is entering its third week of the first phase. Between Tuesday and Friday, eight matches are scheduled to take place at the Arena da Graça in Cruz das Armas.

Past champions Valentina and Roger are among the teams competing this week. Valentina, a winner in 2004 and 2022, will debut against Bessa, while Roger, the 2019 champion, faces Bairro dos Ipês. Winners of these matches will secure spots in the second phase, which already has 13 qualified teams.

The tournament is promoted by the City of João Pessoa through the Secretariat of Youth, Sport, and Recreation (Sejer). Joãozinho Neto, the Secretary of Youth, Sport, and Recreation, stated that the competition aims to strengthen community integration and value amateur athletes within the capital's neighborhoods.
