Série C enters final round of first phase with qualification battles
The first phase of the Brazilian Série C reaches its final round this Saturday, August 29, with ten matches scheduled simultaneously at 17:00. The round will determine the final eight teams to advance to the second phase and decide the battle against relegation.
Brusque, Botafogo-PB, Paysandu, and Inter de Limeira have already secured qualification. Conversely, Confiança has been relegated to Série D for 2027. Teams such as Santa Cruz, Ypiranga, Guarani, and Ferroviária are in close competition for the remaining G-8 spots. In Belém, Paysandu has sold 40,000 tickets for its decisive match against Maringá at the Mangueirão stadium.
In the match between Anápolis and Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz enters the final round in 5th place with 28 points, needing a victory to ensure a comfortable qualification for the quadrangular final. Meanwhile, Inter de Limeira, currently in 4th place, faces Caxias; while Inter is already qualified, the match remains significant for their standing in the next phase.
