Copa Perú 2026: 50 teams qualify for National Stage

The 2026 edition of the Copa Perú has officially entered its National Stage, featuring 50 teams from various regions across the country. The tournament aims to provide a pathway for amateur players to reach professional football, with a single qualifying spot available for Liga 2 in 2027.

Roberto Ramos, president of the Liga Nacional de Fútbol Aficionado (LINFA), emphasized the concept of ‘fútbol macho’ as a symbol of the physical and mental resilience required by players to endure months of travel and competition. Óscar Fernández, president of the IPD, noted that the tournament serves as a vital tool for decentralization and talent identification.

The new competition format will begin with a geographic phase followed by direct elimination rounds. The participating teams represent numerous departments, including Amazonas, Apurímac, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Callao, Cusco, Huancavelica, Huánuco, Ica, Junín, La Libertad, Lambayeque, Lima, Loreto, Madre de Dios, Moquegua, Pasco, Puno, San Martín, Tacna, Tumbes, and Ucayali.
