Copa Raíces to host women's veteran football tournament in Buenos Aires

The first edition of the Copa Raíces will take place in Buenos Aires on August 17 to commemorate Argentine Female Footballer Day. Organized by Club Atlético Banfield, El Femenino, and Mónica Santino, the tournament is specifically designed for players aged 35 and over 50.

The event will be held at the Predio Luis Guillón in Banfield, featuring nine-a-side matches played simultaneously on two pitches. The tournament aims to bridge generations of female athletes, bringing together pioneers of the sport with current players.

Notable figures expected to attend include Argentine national team legends such as goalkeeper Vanina Correa and Alejandra Hass. Members of the Argentine national team coaching staff are also anticipated to be present. The matches will be broadcast via live streaming.
