Copeland completes acquisition of Dickson to bolster cold chain monitoring
Copeland, a compression technologies and controls provider owned by Blackstone, has completed the acquisition of Dickson, a Chicago-based environmental monitoring and compliance technology company. The deal, which follows May River Capital’s ownership since 2018, aims to integrate Dickson’s cloud-native monitoring platform with Copeland’s controls and software to enhance visibility and compliance across the life sciences and pharmaceutical cold chains.
Dickson has expanded under May River Capital from a single-site operation into a global platform serving over 50 countries. The acquisition comes amid rising investment in cold chain infrastructure driven by the growth of e-commerce, globalization of food supplies, and the increasing demand for temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals, such as GLP-1 therapies.
In a related development, Veritiv Operating Company has introduced TempSafe® RxShield™, a compact cold chain packaging solution. This product is designed to help specialty pharmacies manage the rising demand for GLP-1 therapies by reducing shipping costs and maintaining product integrity during the last mile of delivery.
