Copenhagen Conservatives propose new metro line to Rigshospitalet

The Conservative People's Party in Copenhagen has proposed a new metro line connecting the Central Station (Hovedbanegården) to Rigshospitalet. The party intends to include this proposal in this year's budget negotiations.

Estimates suggest the construction of the line would cost approximately 5.3 billion DKK. Party leaders suggest the project should be coordinated with the upcoming M5 line to avoid repeated excavations at the Central Station. The proposed route could include stations at Gammel Kongevej and Stengade on Nørrebro.

Jakob Næsager, Mayor and political leader for the Conservative People's Party in Copenhagen, emphasized the importance of the connection for the thousands of patients, employees, and relatives who visit the hospital daily. Group chairman Morten Melchiors argued that Copenhagen should utilize its significant financial reserves for long-term investments that improve the city's functionality for decades.
