Copenhagen expansion: New Nordsøkvarteret district planned
By & Havn has initiated the development of the Nordsøkvarteret, a new district within Copenhagen's Nordhavn area. The project covers approximately 74 hectares and is part of a larger expansion plan for the region.
By & Havn anticipates the development of 12,000 new homes by 2040. The local plan for the Nordsøkvarteret is expected to be adopted in 2029, with construction slated to begin in 2030 and the first residents moving in by 2032. To facilitate the master plan, a competition is underway involving five prequalified teams of architects and consultants.
