Copenhagen launches free youth activity centers for autumn break

Copenhagen Municipality is launching new free 'Ungebaser' (Youth Bases) during the autumn break to provide teenagers aged 13 to 17 with social and active opportunities. These local meeting points are designed to offer a safe environment where young people can participate in various activities without the need for prior registration.

Program offerings vary by location. At Klub N in Nørrebro, activities include table tennis, board games, music quizzes, film, and creative workshops for music and media production. Grøndal MultiCenter will host football, esports, and marathon dance, while Stjernehuset in Sydhavnen will offer boxing and martial arts.

According to Christopher Røhl, the Mayor for Culture, Leisure, and Citizen Services, the initiative aims to gather youth around shared interests and create a secure space for those who may feel isolated. The program is intended to be accessible to both groups of friends and individuals looking to meet new people.
