Copenhagen Metro returns first modernized train to service
The first of 34 original Copenhagen Metro trains has returned to service on the M1 and M2 lines following a comprehensive modernization process. The renovation, which took place in Rotterdam, has extended the train's lifespan by at least ten years.
The upgrades have increased passenger capacity by approximately 11 percent, allowing for 30 additional passengers per train. Additionally, the train's front control panel has been updated. Mads Thostrup, head of operations and maintenance at Metroselskabet, stated that this milestone helps future-proof the fleet and strengthens capacity and the customer experience.
