Copenhagen reaches agreement on outdoor dining and business parking

Copenhagen Municipality has reached a broad political agreement aimed at expanding outdoor dining opportunities and improving commercial parking within the city. The deal includes provisions for increased outdoor seating in parts of the Medieval City and selected urban streets, where solutions will be determined through dialogue between businesses and residents.

To support the business community, the agreement establishes new commercial parking spaces both inside and outside the Medieval City. It also improves conditions for goods delivery and commercial driving. Additionally, some parking spaces currently reserved for electric car-sharing services will be converted back into standard parking spaces.

HORESTA, the industry organization, expressed satisfaction with the decision, noting that the agreement addresses challenges faced by businesses due to the reduction of parking spaces in recent years. Jeppe Møller-Herskind, CEO of HORESTA, stated that the move helps ensure the city remains functional for employees, suppliers, and service personnel while promoting a vibrant urban environment.
