Copenhagen to host 2026 World Athletics Road Running Championships

The 2026 World Athletics Road Running Championships are scheduled to take place in Copenhagen on September 19–20. The event will feature six individual world titles contested in the road mile, 5km, and half marathon disciplines.

Elite championship races will be held alongside mass-participation events involving approximately 65,000 runners. Notable competitors listed for the men’s mile include Yared Nuguse of the USA and Vincent Ciattei of the USA. Other athletes to watch in the half marathon include Yeman Crippa, while Micol Majori is highlighted as a key competitor for the 5km races.

The competition schedule begins on Saturday with the mile events in the morning and 5km races in the afternoon, followed by the half marathons on Sunday morning.
