Copiapó police deploy security for high-risk funeral after homicide

Police in Copiapó deployed a large-scale security operation to manage a high-risk funeral following a homicide in the Colonias Extranjeras neighborhood. The victim, a Chilean adult male, was found with multiple gunshot wounds on Wednesday morning.

Carabineros, including public order control units and specialized personnel, maintained a heavy presence at the Copiapó General Cemetery to prevent disturbances and ensure the safety of attendees and local residents. The investigation into the fatal shooting involved the Public Ministry and specialized homicide brigades from the PDI.
