Copiso strengthens economic viability in Soria

Copiso, a major Spanish agricultural cooperative, has solidified its position as a key driver of economic viability in the rural Soria region. Founded in the mid-20th century to combat rural depopulation, the organization has evolved into the nation’s leading pig production cooperative, emphasizing circular economy models and social integration.

With 1,400 members and 174 employees, the cooperative reported a turnover of 323.65 million euros in 2025, making it the largest company in Soria. Under the leadership of President Rubén Carramiñana Gil, the company’s strategic plan focuses on balanced economic and social growth, infrastructure expansion for members, and aiming for a 50% market share in the province’s cereal sector. The cooperative is also prioritizing environmental sustainability and the development of value-added products.
