Coporgest demands new supervised beaches and parking in Alentejo

Coporgest, the developer of the Comporta Beach Resort in Grândola, is calling for the creation of new supervised and concessioned beaches along the Alentejo coast. The company is advocating for an expanded network of access points and parking lots to prevent the concentration of crowds in limited areas.

The demand follows a dispute with Grupo Pestana regarding access to the Camarinhas and Duna Cinzenta beaches. Coporgest has expressed its intention to seek an injunction if the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA) modifies the Espichel-Odeceixe Coastal Program to add 250 parking spaces near the only public entrance to those beaches.

Coporgest argues that current planning instruments require an intelligent revision and has formally communicated its position to the APA. The company also contested recent claims made by Grupo Pestana regarding their long-standing defense of integrated solutions for beach access in the Comporta area.
