Coppa Nissena announces 176 participants for 71st edition

The 71st Coppa Nissena, featuring the Michele Tornatore Trophy, has confirmed 176 registered participants for the upcoming hillclimb event in Sicily. The competition will take place on the 5,450-meter stretch of State Road 122 between Ponte Capodarso and Villaggio Santa Barbara.

The race serves as the seventh and final round of the Campionato Italiano Supersalita, the eighth round of the Tricolore Le Bicilindriche, and the fourteenth round of the Campionato Italiano Velocità Montagna sud. Track testing has been completed with positive results.

Key contenders for the Absolute Supersalita Italian Championship include defending champion Simone Faggioli in a Nova Proto NP 01, Stefano Di Fulvio in a supercharged version of the same model, and Mirko Torsellini. Other notable competitors include Achille Lombardi, Fabien Bouduban, and Mario Massaglia. Local Sicilian drivers Samuele Cassibba, Franco Caruso, and Luigi Fazzino are also competing for regional and southern mountain speed titles.
