Coppa Sila hill climb race returns to Calabria
The 44th edition of the Coppa Sila, a historic hill climb race in Calabria, is set to take place on August 29-30. The event features significant participation from major racing teams and historic car enthusiasts.
Cosenza Corse, led by Francesca Tropea, will field a large roster of 40 drivers. The team, which holds a significant presence in the Italian SuperSalita Championship, will enter various vehicles including an Autobianchi A112, several Fiat Unos, Peugeot 205 Rally models, and a VW Golf.
Island Motorsport, a Sicilian team, will also compete in the historic car category. Driver Ciro Barbaccia, the absolute winner of the 2024 edition, aims to defend his title driving an Osella PA9/90 BMW. The race course covers 9.5 kilometers on the provincial road 256 between Cone Aria and Montescuro, featuring a 561-meter elevation gain.
