Copparo moves to acquire vicinal roads, pilot via Brazzolo set for 2025‑2027
The municipality of Copparo is pursuing the reacquisition of its vicinal (private) roads into public ownership, a priority highlighted in the latest council meeting. Vice‑mayor Bruna Cirelli explained that the process, initiated at the end of 2024 under Law 448/1998, began with an inventory and the selection of via Brazzolo as a pilot case.
The schedule calls for identifying all road‑adjacent owners by June 2025, notifying them by the end of 2025, securing written consent by June 2026, and a council resolution in December 2026 to formalise the acquisition. Maintenance works are planned for 2027, with €300,000 already allocated in the three‑year public works programme. Of the 71 identified owners for via Brazzolo, 31 have responded, but documentation gaps have raised legal uncertainties, prompting the municipality to seek clarification from the regional authorities.
