Coppo Pomorosso 2022 wins Best in Show at Decanter World Wine Awards

Coppo’s Pomorosso 2022 Nizza DOCG has been named ‘Best in Show’ at the 2026 Decanter World Wine Awards. Scoring 97 out of 100 points, the wine is one of only 50 selected from nearly 17,000 entries, representing just 0.3% of the total competition.

This marks the first time in the history of the awards that a Barbera grape has reached the ‘Best in Show’ category. The Pomorosso 2022 is the only Nizza DOCG to receive this distinction and is one of only six Italian wines to make the top selection.

Judges described the wine as powerful and well-balanced, noting its notes of black fruit, orange, and blueberry, layered with creamy spiced oak. Rossano Savoia, CEO of Coppo, stated that the recognition highlights the progress of the Barbera grape and the value of the Nizza territory.
