Cops for Kids charity bike ride begins in Kelowna

A group of 15 current and retired Southeast officers has launched the 26th annual Cops for Kids charity bike ride in Kelowna. The participants intend to cycle nearly 1,000 kilometres through the Okanagan and Kootenays over a 10-day period to raise funds for children requiring medical care.

Since its inception, the initiative has raised more than $6.8 million to support children and families in British Columbia’s Southern Interior. In the first eight months of 2026, the program received 290 applications from families in crisis.

Funds from the charity have been used to cover nearly 2,000 nights at the Ronald McDonald House in Vancouver, provide fuel and grocery gift cards to families, and supply mobility equipment such as wheelchairs and scooters, as well as autism assessments.
