Coquy egg producer employee dies in workplace accident
A judicial investigation has been launched following the death of a 30-year-old woman at the Coquy egg production facility in Flagey, Doubs. The victim, Mélissa Bringout, who also served on the Longeville municipal council, died following an accident on August 13.
Preliminary findings suggest the employee may have been caught and strangled by an egg conveyor belt. Emergency responders arrived at the site to find the woman in cardiorespiratory arrest. Although she was resuscitated and airlifted to the Besançon University Hospital in critical condition, she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
In addition to the judicial inquiry to determine the exact causes of death, the labor inspectorate has been notified to investigate the workplace incident.
