Regional infrastructure and tourism updates in Mexico and Dominican Republic

Various regional authorities in Mexico and the Dominican Republic are implementing infrastructure and tourism initiatives.

In Mexico, INTERAPAS has launched a two-stage sanitation project in the Tlaxcala neighborhood to address sewage overflows and renew the drainage network. In San Pedro Cholula, officials have begun replacing over 300 meters of sanitary sewage in Santiago Momoxpan to prevent road damage like potholes and sinkholes. Additionally, in Ramos Arizpe, EMAS is conducting preventive maintenance on wells and repairing drainage lines to mitigate issues caused by recent rains. In Tampico and Ciudad Madero, a state-funded program is rehabilitating hydro-sanitary infrastructure to address sinkholes, with 19 actions already completed.

In the Dominican Republic, the Santiago de los Caballeros City Council and the Santiago Tourist Destination Cluster announced the “Tourism Week 2027” agenda. Scheduled for September 21–25, the event focuses on “innovation and technology in tourism” and will include educational tours, religious activities, and a merit recognition ceremony for local tourism contributors.
