Coral Monlevade EnCanto performs at international choral festival

The Coral Monlevade EnCanto, composed of municipal elementary school students from João Monlevade, performed at the XXIII Encanta Lafaiete International Choral Festival in Conselheiro Lafaiete. Under the direction of conductor Rita Abreu, the group presented a repertoire designed to showcase their technical development, including the song ‘Somewhere Only We Know’.

In addition to the musical challenges of singing in a foreign language and mastering three-part harmonies, the festival provided students with an opportunity for artistic exchange. The group shared the program with the Coral Ars Nova from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), allowing the young singers to observe different choral techniques and musical approaches.
