Corale Folk P. G. Lerario represents Abruzzo at national festival

The Corale Folk P. G. Lerario from Silvi is participating in the 44th edition of the National Festival ‘Italia e Regioni’ held in Calabria, specifically in Castrovillari and Sibari. Organized by the Federazione Italiana Tradizioni Popolari, the event features 21 folk groups from across Italy.

The group, directed by Maestro Franco Costantini and accompanied by accordionist Rocco Ronca, will perform traditional Abruzzese songs. The performance aims to showcase the original melodic and rhythmic structures of the region’s folk music and costumes.

According to Costantini, the festival provides a platform to present authentic regional culture to a technical commission of ethnomusicologists and ethnoanthropologists. He emphasized the group's commitment to preserving traditional songs in their original form, avoiding the commercialized adaptations often found in modern interpretations.
