Santo Domingo International Book Fair 2026 names Panama guest of honor
The 28th Santo Domingo International Book Fair (FILSD 2026) will feature Panama as the guest of honor. Scheduled from September 23 to October 4, the event aims to strengthen regional integration and cultural exchange across Latin America.
Minister of Culture Roberto Ángel Salcedo announced that the fair will host over 70 international writers and feature approximately 600 activities, including book presentations, conferences, workshops, film screenings, and musical performances. The event will include 32 international and 21 national publishing houses, alongside 44 Dominican bookstores.
The poet and essayist José Mármol will be the honored author of this edition. To mark the tribute, the Editora Nacional will release three of his works: ‘Esculpir la niebla’, ‘Metáforas del tiempo’, and ‘La escritura imposible’. A total of 23 Dominican titles are expected to be presented during the fair.
Separately, Coralia Lebrón, a marketing and communication specialist, is set to participate in FOTOCOM 2026, the first International Congress of Photojournalism and Strategic Visual Communication. Lebrón will deliver a virtual lecture titled ‘Digital marketing strategies for photographers’ on August 27, focusing on personal branding and digital presence for visual professionals.
