Corato hosts second Massimo Paganelli memorial chess tournament

The second edition of the Massimo Paganelli memorial chess tournament was held in the municipal cloister of Corato. Organized by the associations La Torre del Tempo, If In Apulia, and the Paganelli family, the event drew over 60 players from across Puglia.

The competition featured two categories using a rapid format: an amateur tournament and a main tournament for competitive players registered with the Italian Chess Federation (FSI). The event saw significant participation from children, with over 25 young players enrolled.

In the main tournament, Savino Lattanzio, an FSI National Master from Barletta, took first place. The podium also included Corato residents Vincenzo Marrone and his daughter Miriam. Rosita Marrone received the award for the best female player in the main tournament. In the amateur category, Leonardo Lamanna secured first place.
