Cordae addresses breakup with Naomi Osaka in new song

American rapper Cordae has addressed his split from professional tennis player Naomi Osaka in the song ‘Helpless,’ featured on his collaborative album ‘Heavy is the Crown’ with Anderson .Paak.

In the track, Cordae reflects on the end of the relationship and the challenges of co-parenting their daughter, Shai. The lyrics also include a reference to him expecting a second child, though he did not specify the identity of the mother.

Osaka previously confirmed the couple's separation in January 2025, stating on Instagram that there was ‘no bad blood at all’ and describing Cordae as a ‘great person and an awesome dad.’ The pair began dating in 2019 and welcomed their daughter in July 2023.
