Cordoba Legislature: Ruling bloc demands removal of Alejandra Ferrero

Political tensions escalated in the Córdoba Unicameral Legislature as the ruling Hacemos Unidos por Córdoba bloc demanded the removal of legislator Alejandra Ferrero from her seat. The demand follows the arrest and indictment of Omar Manuel Ludueña, an employee assigned to Ferrero’s office, on charges of aggravated sexual abuse.

Legislators Leonardo Limia and Facundo Torres accused the Radical Civic Union (UCR) of applying a “double standard” in their political conduct. They argued that while the UCR previously demanded the removal of legislator Ramón “Cañito” Flores due to an employee's legal issues, they have failed to demand similar accountability for Ferrero despite the similar nature of the allegations involving Ludueña.

The confrontation led to the Hacemos Unidos bloc withdrawing from the chamber, resulting in a lack of quorum and the termination of the session. This move prevented Ferrero from exercising her right to respond to the accusations through a matter of privilege.
