Core Lithium shares fall following company announcements
Core Lithium Ltd shares fell approximately 7.74% to 38.8 cents during morning trading on Thursday, following a series of company announcements. This decline follows a previous 12% jump in share price.
The company’s FY26 annual report indicates an improved financial position, with cash reserves rising to $181.8 million from $23.5 million the previous year. This increase was largely driven by a $120 million share placement and funding arrangements with Glencore and InfraVia. Despite the improved cash position, Core Lithium reported a net loss of approximately $26 million and operating cash outflows of $21.1 million.
Operational updates show progress at the Finniss lithium operation. The company recently produced its first spodumene concentrate from the processing plant, meeting its September quarter target. Upgrades to the plant are expected to increase annual throughput capacity by roughly 20% to 1.2 million tonnes. Additionally, development continues at the BP33 underground mine, with the first shipment of lithium concentrate expected during the December quarter.
