Core strength training through plank challenges and Pilates
Various fitness methods focus on strengthening the core through bodyweight and Pilates-based exercises. A 30-day plank challenge aims to build abdominal, back, and shoulder strength by gradually increasing hold times, with the ultimate goal of reaching a five-minute continuous plank by the final day.
In addition to planking, Pilates techniques emphasize the deep musculature, specifically the transversus abdominis, to create a stable core. Key exercises include ‘The Hundred’, which involves rhythmic arm movements while maintaining a stable lower back, and the ‘Single Leg Stretch’ to combine stability with movement.
